Can someone here suggest what should be the road map to get into FAANG or to any product based companies? Anyone changes from service organisations to product based companies and how did you achieve ?

Three things help you get your foot into PBC’s

  1. Mastery of your core technology

  2. Thorough understanding of your project

  3. Solid fundamentals on DSA

These don’t guarantee anything except a fighting chance. After you get the hang of it, the interview process especially the rejections and the cause of it, you will clear the good ones.

All the best.

Along with these, at 5 yoe, system design [ hld + lld ] would be needed

Spend a good amount of time preparing. Once you feel a bit confident, start giving interviews in companies that you wouldn't go or you haven't heard of, just for practice. After each interview, write down what went well, what didn't go well, topics that you need to read/practice/revise. Before the next interview, make sure to address the shortcomings. Try to get offer letters even if you are not gonna go, helps in building confidence. Once you are confident that you are able to comfortably solve hard questions in an interview setting, then go after the big players.

There are lots of product based organisations other than FAANG. I have switched from service to product 2 times. You need to apply through different job portals
