POV: You unlocked middle class 🔒
Imagine this : You are in your 30s You have your own home fully furnished, nothing too fancy but big enough to give a separate room for each family member You have a family car.. Not a luxury one, just a normal mid sized SUV U have no loans, no emi, no obligations You don't make a crazy amount but have some job security making early 6 figures a month.. Question : Are you happy? What else would you buy, what else would you aim for? What are the other necessities.. We all know there's no limit to wanting more.. If u don't want to upgrade to luxury version of stuff u have what else do u need in life?

Yup entire middle class thinks of this, i don’t really get it what is this obsession with kids? We are 3 siblings and only 1 has given good ROI 🤣 , not worth it.
I would have a minimalistic 2 bhk , live in with my partner, go on treks and vacations every quarter, work hard, party hard, do charity for animals and then die leaving all my money for animal welfare.
Cars are big no, my current enfield is good enough for anything more than 20km but bicycle for daily commute bcs they are cheap and will keep me alive till 80.
Life is abt creating experiences for one self. Dont confuse it with your children’s life. That’s the biggest problem in India, parents are way too concerned abt their children

I'm quite okay with not having kids. But idk what to do when I'm old and on a bed 24hrs. Who will take care of me. How will I survive then ? (Yeah yeah ikn that kids are not investment or whatever. But they are and you know it)

Society, relatives pressure will be there. They will say
No loans have more kids
No loans invest somewhere else
No loans dont settle with cheaper car
No loans buy lots of gold
No loans buy costly clothes or accessories.
you will also tempted to buy unnecessary things.
Until you spend all of the monthly salary these ppl will give free advices.

I am on way for 40s, with a kid. I have no house of my own. Have portfolio of around ~1cr. But I have anxiety everyday about how to be in corporate as the jobs will go away as people age.
I know one thing, if nothing else money definitely buys you time! To do whatever you want. I want a decent house and good school for my kid. Want to tuck decent ₹₹ for his education! And if time permits travel some countries taking the time off. Disclosure: in the rut for 13 years.

In my opinion, once you are in 30s, your needs and aspirations revolves around kids and their needs. It's only after they are teens or in college you start thinking about what next. With kids, I can't plan for tomorrow morning. So, I think it's the kids who drives the needs and next goals.

This is so true! Plan out a long drive and that morning my daughter decides to catch a stomach bug - all plans cancelled.
Traveling to meet a client and school calls to say daughter is running a very high fever. Cancel the client meeting and rush to the school.
There is NO RESPITE for parents! Absolutely none.

Lifestyle expenses shoot up exponentially. Once you taste luxury you can’t go back to normal

Having a house with rooms for each member without loan itself takes one out of middle class
Having a house with rooms for each family member and without loan itself will take an individual out of the middle class . Middle class are still struggling to repay the home loan and other emi with salary
Get a working wife and it's quite easy.. We both saved 1L pm in SIP for 6 years and bought a house no loan, interior designer paid with appliances and furniture

Unlocking this is a dream itself, I have neither of the 3 but I'm close to 30.
Dude..WTH!! You are no longer middle class if you have this by 30. You have achieved the bare necessities needed for survival.
You have attained much financial independence. Work for a few more years and retire to some farms or rest and vest.
Who even define middle class for masses so diverse as India. The one described above doesnt seem middle class at all.

Only 1% of India earn more than 12 lakhs per year. So this is not middle Class
Hope you are a unmarried person cause married people with kids don't have time nor patience to write these posts. So if you ask me what more do you want I would say fall in love & get married & have some kids!
Why everyone is triggered.. Its 30s.. 30s is from 30 to 39
This is my definition of middle class.. And easily achieveable.. If u have a small family...
But the point was, this is already achieved, what next to aim for..

Then now is the time to start pursuing your dreams dude. Join a startup, create one, invest in some business, start an NGO, go on trips, make time for your parents, take them on trips, do a world tour, get that 1000cc bike etc. So much to do and so little time we have! Once this phase crosses, age and health will catch up to you :(
