Clearing interviews without actual work experience

Hey everyone, I'd like to hear your thoughts. Have any of you successfully aced an interview solely through tutorials, YouTube, or side projects without hands-on work experience? I am a SDET exploring a transition to SDE role, internally tried within my company ,not happening due to various reasons, hence trying to switch over. In order to achieve that, I've worked on full-stack sidd projects, practiced DSA, and made a good "tailored" CV that gets me interview calls. But I am currently facing mixed experiences in interviews. I am able to answer a few but struggle with some questions and seek advice on how to improve. Any suggestions for this career switch are greatly appreciated! Thanks a ton

For freshers it might be possible but after 1-2 yoe they would figure it out if you have worked with any of the technology or you are faking it

U have to fake it as 2 yoe developer no one is gonna hire you from test unless you want to start as fresher from sde 1

Do let me know your experiences on this as am also trying from a long time for this switch badly but failing after clearing the dsa rounds. They ask complex counter questions on our daily tasks which i struggle with. Is my experience too much to switch now 3+ yoe?

depends on the companies and interviews. If they ask only DSA then yes

You should be able to do it. Fake that you are a developer in your team and start going through the code base.
