CRED - Product Ops Interview - Great experience!

Gave an interview for Product Ops at Cred. Didn't convert, but the overall experience was great:

  1. HRs were empathetic and helpful - called after a week to give detailed feedback (covered what they liked, didn't like, what they were expecting)
  2. Interviewer was also nice and keen to know more about my experience

They were expecting a good understanding of growth and metrics, and I didn't have much experience with that, so I got rejected, but overall, it was an excellent experience.

I have been putting all my recent bad interview experiences here, so why not also put a good one! :)

Woow you must be someone really in control of your ego. Being able to appreciate a company even after getting rejected is a high quality

What? That’s some basic sense

There is nothing about controlling the ego. I had the same experience and may be the only experience from Google HR after getting rejected for a role around 6 years back.

Lovely to see this. Need more such stories :)

Also, exactly something I expect of Cred. Many good people there.

Same experience was with me last year.

The same role! I rejected though because didn't want to take a hit from PM to product ops as the progression there is from ops to PM based on performance.

But all throughout, the HR and the interviewer were in touch, accommodative, transparent and open in communication. I infact told both of them this real reason for rejecting.

Cred, although nonsense startup, gives a great interview and teamwork experience for sure!

Great to heard about the culture of the team even though their coins are useless but their interview process is not

Yeah man. I interviewed at cred too and was pleasantly surprised at the whole process. Especially the HRs are doing a great job. In the age of ghosting after taking all rounds of interviews, calling to give feedback is such a nice thing.

Its a pleasant surprise to hear that at least one startup which is popular has a good culture. Ive come across multiple posts of cred folks praising the culture there and only 1 friend who used to work there say the culture is not good. Hope, the former is true. Another thing i realized recently creds head of design is a literal rockstar lmao 😂. I wonder if they had a hiring design rockstars copy when hiring 😅

The head of design is a person called Harish Sivaramakrishnan. He is the main singer of the band AGAM , the band is known for the songs with carnatic and rock. 5 years ago i attended his live show ..it was a great experience...

That is actually very nice of them. Other companies never share any feedback and don't even confirm the rejection.

Nice one. Can you pls explain what is the basic difference in product management and product Ops? And what were the questions asked with growth metrics?

@FatTortoise0 I heard the interview process in CRED takes months like 4-5 months long with multiple interview rounds. Can you share your experience on this ?

Did they ask you for ideas about what to do with cred coins?
