Currently employed

Hi, I recently got a job after a big break (6 months) in my career. This job does not pay very well but since I was unemployed for so long, I was desperate and took whatever came my way. I recently got a call from a big organisation where I had applied over 3 months ago. Should I let them know of this job? It has not even been a month in this job and my CTC here is lower than my previous CTC so if I let them know about this job, my new CTC would be comparatively lower. Also, I don’t want them to think of me as a job hopper. Is it wrong to hide that I am currently working somewhere? What can I do in this situation?

The big gap is not the problem because the company gave you a call upfront so they are probably aware that you are not working for the past 6 months. Your experience letter from your current company does not matter either, so you can completely skip its mention from your CV as well.

It has just been a month so I don’t think this work experience is going to make much difference in your learning anyway!

No, highly recommend you don’t tell them. No need to feel guilty as it’s your choice how you manage your career and it’s only a smart choice to leave a job that’s not paying well to take up a much better opportunity.

An ideal way to deal with this situation is that you don’t tell the big company about your current job and show it as a gap. You already have a gap of 6 months so a few more won’t matter so much.
