Hiring PMs at series A

Hi, 8 YOE, Security engineer trying to switch to PM role. Studied everything related to PM. Joined cohort based course who promised interviews but nothing came. Currently writing cold emails. I am expert at cyber security who can understand code, write scripts, do front end dev, can design What should I do to land a PM role?

I’m keen on knowing what PMs at tech startups (Series B and above) make in terms of CTC. Would also be helpful to highlight the levels (APM, PM, SPM, PPM, Director/AVP, VP and so on)

Hi guys, I am currently working as an APM at an AI startup(B2B SAAS) working on genAI product. Have 2 YOE and base of 20 LPA. Looking to switch due to growth barrier and work culture. Have given interviews with startups in similar domain for APM roles but getting ghosted after 3-4 rounds. I am looking for 20-30% hike. Am i asking too much? Any suggestions? I'm switching PM jobs from my existing company (Series E unicorn) where I had a good ESOP policy to a smaller company (just past Seed stage, raising Series A). Weirdly, they're not offering me a proper ESOP package (vague figures, no useful $ values mentioned in the offer) even though the salary offer is pretty good. Company culture is good & team seems happy during my interactions. Should I be worried? Any suggestions on how I can approach this convo with co-founder are welcome too.

Background: I work in a D2C consumer product startup, we have an in-house website and a growing tech team of 7 people. The whole business team is 100+. I'm a '23 grad from a tier 1 engineering college. I joined the company back in September when the job market was at the bottom and I had to take a 40% pay cut (21LPA to 12LPA) (while switching (the last company ran out of funding). I was at a higher than avg base in my previous role but the current role is 20% below the average. (15LPA) The company is in a growth stage and lots of processes are yet to be defined which leads to a lot of chaos but I get a lot of freedom as well. My manager is aware of the whole situation and we had also negotiated a 6-month review for ESOP allotment. My monthly reviews have been going well and we have shipped some good improvements and features over the last few months.

This is not a question for the cocky new grad in the overvalued startup, but for the few seasoned PMs that still reply out here. Where do PMs go after they peak? By peaking I mean arriving at a GPM or Staff PM position at the top 10-15 companies (you can do your own ranking here). Nobody has the true statistics but I will use the assumption that 75% (debatable) of those who peak, will get laid off within 2 years from their ‘peak role’. The remaining will be able to progress into DoP and VP in the same top company or another in the top 15. Where do they go then? I am pretty positive, from experience, that they don’t go any up. Do they go down the ladder of new startups for titles and ending up in the worst ones after being laid off 4-5 times? Do they quit all together? Do they open a farm? Do they start their own startup? Comments and thoughts folks!

Met a PM from IIT / IIM with 4 years of experience. He is working at a well know soonicorn at a salary of 17 lakhs per year . He used to draw 30 lakhs per year in his last role before we was laid off . Interesting Times ahead

What is a fair ESOP to Cash Component ratio in the CTC for a product manager with 3-4 years of experience in a start-up at $20 mn valuation, at series A?

If he gives me ESOPs worth the CEO's shares then sure I would have an entrepreneurial mindset.
