[Thread] Just became a verified user on Grapevine ✅. Here’s my reason…

I’ve recently saw a few accounts have the verified tick just like Twitter. Wanted to know what it meant. Are they employees of Grapevine or some kind of moderators ? Is it a paid subscription and if so what does it offer ?

How did you come to know about it? What made you download it? And why are you still using it? Building anything in social is so hard. I want to know how they got the users.

I'm considering verifying my work email on here just to be a part of the company group. However I want to know if it's safe? Is there any way the company can then actually track us?

I was talking to a friend from work who is extremely active on Grapevine and they told me about this new feature on the app. Apparently, if you are active on Grapevine everyday for 30 days and make 1000 grapes during that time then you get a bottom card asking you to opt in to a more exclusive community of professionals. All of them meet on a monthly basis across the country, for a fireside chat. Everyone is flown from their base locations and the entire thing end to end is sponsored by Grapevine where you spend no money. I am extremely certain because I have seen their Instagram stories.

For me it’s a Reddit for corporates. There is no way I can authenticate anything which is posted. Does discussions on grapevine make any impact on your decision making about joining or not joining the firm?

Id love to see Grapevine create a catalogue of Grapevine approved verified anonymous accounts of detailed employee accounts of how good or terrible a company is. Think The Ken but filled with employee reports. But the style of writing leaning on the casual office gossip side. And the content saved in an archive and searchable. The biggest problem of course would be getting people to verify their identity to a Grapevine mod or writer may be tough. Me personally, I’d love to talk to some writer about my experience at my previous businesses. So many scoops and insane stories! (I dislike Glassdoor for the HRs infiltrating and BSing everyone)

I am sure it's a work email verification badge(the blue tick). But only some of the users have it. How do I get that badge? Because I didn't get any option to verify my email!

I’ll go first. To me, it’s all about access. Access to authentic ideas. The best search result you get on Google is high SEO but low authenticity. On LinkedIn, there are so many people but everyone is shilling a course or 1:1 resume reviews. Mostly it has become a place which started as vanity signalling Like ( I have started a new role…, I have been accepted at …, I have received offers from F, A, N and G and I’m joining G.) And now people pushing mindless content with “Agree?” or “Comment Interested”. Somehow, everyone is truly inauthentic to please a wider audience and say the exact same generic gyaan to maximise engagement. For now, Grapevine is where people are genuinely themselves and I get to hear interesting things that you get to hear near the coffee machine. Kinda feels like we’re all a big community where we all contribute and learn new things about the professional landscape around us. Godspeed Grapevine. 🚀

Work culture has become ultra toxic. Managers have started nano managing and literally are a pain in the ass. Product giving unrealistic timelines and leadership agreeing on the same without even consulting the developers and even if the developers are raising concerns, no fucks are given infact they are made to realise that this is how a startup should work. Literally everyone is working their asses off and still unable to meet the deadlines. Empathy is completely lost and WLB is a sham. People including me want to switch but are not even getting time to prepare.
