How can one get into data analytics?

Every institution, college, edtech is selling courses.. And every influencer is claiming it’s the next big thing. Any advice on where can a rookie start from to understand what entails being a data analyst! Where does one start if one wants to get into it?

Focus on data engineering and data manipulation, and do a couple of projects. With that you will land a job as an analyst. Rest will happen NEVER take any paid courses. If you ask me as a recruiter, a course from one of these big ones is a small red flag for me. I prefer people working on some projects and really talking about it. 1. Learn SQL, pandas, pyspark really really well. 2. In order to do 1st better to pick a project and use your skills to achive the goals of the project. It can be anything like eCommerce product ratings prediction & driver analysis. Don't just stop at prediction, but you have to think about driver analysis too. That's real analytics 3. Learn art of communicating your work. Talk business & problem statement again and again. Big portion of the interview lies here. In understanding how well you have understood business problem statement and how well you can further break it to build solutions 4. With above things you will be able to land an entry level job as analyst somewhere... Journey then begins. I seriously urge you to focus on engineering skills while at your job at the same time give equal importance to business knowledge & stakeholder management. They are no big deal but unless you plan on improving it, they won't improve... Good luck

Hi! I'm a CA Inter pass out with about 7 years work ex. I have worked in fields such as Accounting, Audit, Taxation, Compliance and Reporting. And i for a fair fact also believe i have a thing for Data analytics. I get too excited when i have to work with large chunks of data on a spreadsheet to formulate results out of it. I have 15 plus years experience in different process in backend Testing, pensions and voice calls, also hv done diploma in HR through correspondence however couldn't upskill myself due to various responsibility at home and sickness in my family each year so hospital and house care was needed so wanted advice whether data analytics could be the right course for upskilling or higher LPA due to my diverse process jump or which will be a proper course to join - is Coursera good or upgrad for post graduation or coding ninjas - I am confused pls help, pls advice

How do I pivot to Data Analytics/Data Science?

Hi guys, I have a tier - II MBA, 5 years of work-ex post MBA. I currently work in marketing and the pay is good. However, I struggle with my mental health in this role, especially because I am an introvert who deals with ADHD. I have figured out that IC roles with minimal dependency on other people is where I thrive. I also like working with data in my role, whenever I get the chance to do so. I figured that Data Analytics/Science could be one of the fields that I could work well in. How do I pivot to this field? Where do I start? What kind of salary structure can I look at? What would be the growth? Is it even worth it?
