- Ask your manager about the total project value
- Count the number of hours you are working on a project.
- Ask for the hourly rate charged by the agency for design work and the deduct 30-40% from it(agency's cut) and the amount will your hourly rate. But if they are charging x amount and two designers are working on it for the same rate and divide the rate by 2 and then do th maths.
- Calculate the number of projects you have done in quarter. Calculate the total value of projects you have worked on. Calculate the total number of hours you have spent. And find the amount you should receive. And then divide it for each month.
Basically this is to calculate your contribution in the revenue for the projects you are working on. And then see if you are being paid, significantly less than you are bringing in, then tell this t.your manager. Talk in the language of managers, percentages and maths, it's usually effective.
Also, agencies in general pay less than product companies. This is due to business reasons. The basic maths is, if you are earning 50k per month, you should bring revenue of minimum of 1L per month and 1.5 L ideally. If you bring 1L , then it's break even for the agency, if 1.5L-2L, it's profitable, then you can ask for bonuses and salary hike.
