Do we as Indians get offended too easily?

I’ve noticed that many Indians yap a lot and often display a strong sense of bigotry, especially on online forums and social media.

They struggle to take a joke, quickly gang up to orchestrate witch hunts, and become aggressive or abusive toward anyone who doesn’t share their worldview.

Constructive criticism is often met with personal attacks, debates devolve into shouting matches, and even the mildest dissent can trigger outrage.

The hypocrisy is even more glaring—many who loudly preach about morality and “Indian culture being ruined” are the same ones harassing female influencers, spamming DMs asking for nudes, or abusing teams and creators online.

They cry about respect but have no problem sending death threats or spewing vile comments the moment someone challenges their fragile beliefs.

Whether it’s movies, stand-up comedy, political opinions, or even harmless memes, there’s always a section ready to take offense, demand bans, boycotts, or force public apologies—all while engaging in the very behavior they claim to condemn.

It's the lack of empathy.
We have failed to learn it and we have also failed to teach it to the kids.

So when our fragile egos are hurt, we don't try to seek out help or resolution, we lash out.

I feel that kindness has eroded from our culture and we should be really concerned about it.

Yes! That does make a lot of sense.

I would also add that when you're struggling in life it's hard to empathise with others while focusing on your own survival. And much of India is in that spot at any given point of time.

Tough spot to be in.

lol…in a public forum there will be multiple opinions and yes ppl may gang up to stress their point of view. What you perceive as a joke need not be by another. May be they can tone down on aggressiveness but overall I feel it’s the same in every country. But we always put down our country first. Not sure why.

I’m saying this, coz it is a matter of concern to me. What can I do to help.
Recently read an article about the growing sense of racism against Indians because of such shenanigans across social media worldwide.. that is concerning

The latent show!

Ranveer Allahbadia's joke was classic example of what works in west doesn't work in India.
