Microsoft people on GV, need your honest opinion
What is this Karya, and why is Satya Nadela promoting it? I heard the video, 20×minimum wage can't possibly be True. Minimum wage in India is 200 Rs per day, so these women cannot be earning 4000 a day. This means 1.2L a month. Is it only a bullshit PR campaign masquerading as a Social initiate or is there really something to it? I've come across Karya before, seems legit but can't say for sure. They have a limited acceptance program only for rural/semi rural and poor people.

I am just questioning their claims
Women earning 20x minimum wage
Financial empowerment by opening bank accounts, getting them a line of credit...

Nothing impossible as such. As for wages, I think they have a limited number of hours per week per person but i can't remember exactly where i read it.
From the article i do remember, earners said it was supplementary income that helped. Not primary source of income. Maybe it's 4-8k per week/month and not per day.

How are you paying 4000 per day for cheap annotation labour?
