The issue is that, 2021-2022 kind of made those who got placed that it's easier to ace interviews and that too for unexplainable salaries.
They're trying to sell that as dreams to others. Now situation is relatively coming back to normal and interviews are getting a bit more difficult as well

The issue is not about competition. It’s clearly an HR issue. First it mattered what college you went to as a proxy for quality, then what courses you have done, and then github. Now it’s open source contributions. These PRs fool hr into shortlisting them and might fool Some devs too 🤷‍♂️
Hiring pipeline is never fixed. Too many people want a job they don’t have skills for, and instead of upskilljng they choose to game the system. We talk about poor tech candidates, probably the right time we talk about recruiters who suck at their job
HR are item songs equivalent of the corporate world. They don't have any role beyond clerical activity of coordination for interviews. Expecting them to filter candidates is like expecting a fish to fly.
