MBB: management consulting

I currently work as a senior analyst in risk management and analytics at one of the big 3. Don’t really like the work or long hours. What are my exit options? Can I move to tech in some product or strategy roles? Or can I get a VC or PE analyst role? Appreciate if anyone can share their experience of post exit from consulting. Yoe 3 MBA tier 2

Hi, is there a possibility to get into senior consulting roles @ MBB while having 4YOE as a B2C PM(total 5YOE, no MBA)? Also what's the salary like for such positions in MBB?

Hey. I'm a post graduate from a tier 1 MBA college currently working as a management consultant in one of the Big4s (<1 year). Compensation is good (~30 lpa), can't complain. Work has been stagnant for a while firm wide though and have just been focused on upskilling myself. With the interactions I've had till now, I don't really see myself building any hard skills other than data analysis in excel, power BI and business acumen here. (I might just be ill informed here, but are these transferrable skills I can take to the industry? I know data analysis is the bread and butter for business everywhere but I'm talking about specific software and whatnot used in companies) 1. I'm just worried about the exit opportunities that I might have later on. Can anyone shed some light on what kind of exit opportunities one can expect? 2. Let's say I want to get into the operations side of the industry. Is there anything I can do if I'm not necessarily involved in such projects?

1. What was your profile before exit - MBA vs Bachelors, how many years at consulting, key reason for exit 2. What industry/ role did you exit in - was it related to any case you did, how did you zero in into the role 3. How is the overall compensation, what is the expected growth rate expected? 4. Hi, I am working in an mnc as a software developer since 2 years after graduating from a top tier IIT. But I don’t see myself doing this in the next 5 years. Should I do an MBA from top tier IIM college? I know it will not be beneficial in short term but in long term is it a good idea? Anyone from similar backgrounds do share your experience.

Hey people, I am a software engineer. I am thinking of pivoting to leadership kind of roles like EIR, founders office, product manager, etc. For people who are currently in such roles or know people in these roles, do you think people from tech(engineering) background, pivoting to this role at age of 24-25 yrs is advisable? Would people hiring for these roles see that I don't hold an MBA? What are the things about these roles I should be aware of?

I am very fascinated by Management Consulting and been speaking with ex consultants. All of them are critical of it, but agree the money is good 🤤 Need advice - Do these companies take lateral hires? I have seen only IIM candidates freshly graduated being taken in I'm not IIM, but MBA with 6 years of work ex - MBB have shittiest WLB and highest money. Which comes down as per tier. Which is the best tier to get into, so I have best of both worlds (less shitty WLB with lesser money)

Im currently working at McKinsey and want to understand if working at a startup in a strategy.growth role is better. What are the factors i should be thinking about before making the switch?
