Fans of Elon Musk: What is it about him?

There's this old interview I used to rewatch a lot, where he talked about how he barely got any sleep and was ruining his health by taking a bet on SpaceX. I used to find him inspiring, but the more I learn about his actual contributions to his companies, the more disappointed I am. He seems to be the money guy in a room full of engineers, and his lack of coding and manufacturing knowledge seem to drag down his work at Tesla. A friend I know at Tesla talks often about how people in the company view the Cybertruck as Musk's pet project, even though it's an incredibly impractical car. His ego gets in the way of senior engineers and the actual co-founders of tesla, who quietly quit in the last few years

Yeah credit where it's due, he made electric vehicles look cool to average people. Now it's kindof sad that he's embarassing himself and going back on his ideals
