I have been using the prominent dating apps since quite some time, they work well initially but slowly the experience feels like a drag. It’s just a bunch of connections you talk to and it mostly ends up being a dead conversation. I realised when you engage with users who are genuinely looking to date it’s much easier to meet up since everyone is aligned. My hypothesis is that adding more friction on onboarding (not blindly adding this ofcourse) could weed out the users with low intent and leave you with a high quality user base. What do you guys think is the problem with dating apps in general? P.S: this is a random 5am thought and I had to post it since I can’t stop thinking about it and wanted to hear other, and probably smarter, people out haha 🙌

Which dating app works in Bengaluru? I am an average looking guy and single. Honestly just wanna like company of someone. I tried bumble and tinder but not getting matches (both premium). I don't know why. Feeling a lot lonely nowadays.

I’m an smart looking guy working as a software professional. I've tried Tinder, Bumble, Happen, and Aisle, and even subscribed to two of them for a month, but I haven’t had any luck. I just keep swiping and swiping. Are the women on these apps actually interested in dating, or are many of them just looking to increase their Instagram followers? It seems like the standards are incredibly high, and many people aren’t clear about what they actually want. 😝

0. Try to have a call/video call before the first date. Always take their phone number/insta id before agreeing to meet, plenty of ghosters and shady folks these days. 1. Always try to meet outside for the first date. Don't go for drives. Those kinda dates almost never end up going well in the long run. Ask to meet halfway, don't go out of your way just to meet someone. 2. Don't meet someone with the expectation to start dating or getting married right away. Get to know them as friends first. Everything else later. 3. Date for 2-3 months at least before committing to be exclusive, don't rush into things and keep your options open. 4. Do not go for dates when you're feeling down or depressed. Meeting a stranger most likely won't help, it'll only distract temporarily. 5. Draw up a list of things you want and don't want in a partner. Should have at least 5-6 points on both sides. Pointless to date without knowing that much, but the list will also change with time. 6. Keep an open mind, try to be empathetic, and have fun. Don't compromise just to please the other. Learn to take a stand and draw boundaries from the start. 7. Use protection always, no matter what. And also have some self defense prepared just in case (for all genders). Having met hundreds of people through dating apps in the last decade, these are a few rules I formed for myself over time. I am writing this post to understand the pros and cons of different dating apps from the customer side point of view.

I've seen a bunch of posts over the last month asking for tips on optimising profiles on Tinder / Bumble / Hinge to get to date / casual relationships / serious engagements. Have people completely stopped relying on just walking up to people / meeting someone in person, asking them out and taking it from there? It's slow and requires effort but works better. Zero chance of being catfished. You can control the narrative and pace. Whats with being handicapped by the app?
