Salary Ask
I've started looking for a new PM job. Haven't switched ever before. Need help here.
What is the salary I should look for now? Profile:
- 5 year experience with a unicorn startup
- Tier 1 MBA - 1yr
- 1.5 yrs experience with an IT MNC ...
I've been with the same firm after one switch post MBA from a Tier 1 B School. Completed almost 5 years with the firm. Just wanted to benchmark what the salaries are like after 5 years of work ex. It started with 17 fixed and now get almost double of it fixed. How's the salary for other folks in Marketing/Sales? I know Fin and Consulting may make higher than this. What should I ask for if I plan to switch now?
A good salary at 5 years post tier-1 MBA is minimum 60, and ideally close to 70. If you are below 40, you're definitely on the lower end of the spectrum.
Finance or consulting people would become Principal or AVPs by now, and would earn 1 Cr+.
Any idea about sales and marketing? In traditional MNCs and not start-ups?
I've seen people ranging from 30-90 salary as fixed at 5YOE. But my best guess for average would be roughly 45
5YOE post MBA that is
Seems a bit low for 5+ YOE post graduation from tier 1. You should be clocking 40 at least plus another 10-15% variable
Which tier 1 bschool? I have seen people from ABC making around 35 in 1-2 yrs of work exp only
How do you define Tier-1 MBA?
Getting 35 at 5 YOE from IIM ABC or ISB seems on the lower end.
