Getting a remote job as a Product Designer for a US company

Heard a lot of people getting jobs that pay $100,000+ working remotely as a Product Designer for US based companies.

Is this true? If so, does anyone have tips on how to get started?

It's super rare from what I know. The only person I know got it because she's worked at start-up incredibly similar to the one in US.
