Google is hiring for Product Managers

ecently, have seen 5+ posts on LinkedIn, about Google hiring for different products like gen ai, security and education.

In job portal, they haven't mentioned about MBA or any specific requirement apart from yoe. Wanted to know, what does Google wants in a PM, and what is the salary range for a PM there, if they need a 4 year experienced product manager?

Also, how are these criterias soft or quite rigid?

I wouldn’t recommend even giving interviews in Google.

And why so? Isn't that a dream company for many?

It was for me as well but I gave interviews with them 3 times and had bad experiences each time. I realised Google today is not the google of the early 2000s. Most of their products today are mediocre. They are no longer as employee centric as they used to be - calling people to office, layoffs, politics in promotions, etc.

Their interview process is really broken but instead of trying to fix it, they are very proud of it.

For example, they don’t have a role or team for you when you start your interviews and you have no idea who the hiring manager is.
Even their interviewers will act nice in front of you but their interview feedback will obsess and write an entire paragraph about a really minor thing you missed or didn’t do but diminish things you did well.

There is also a tendency to ghost candidates after wasting their time instead of sending a simple rejection mail.

I have many more reasons as well.

I've talked to a few folks for a referral. They said, even internally 90% of positions are frozen and recruiters are collecting salary related data.
