CG is offering 15% more than tcs. My priorities are work life balance,decent job security as my wife is pregnant and have a toddler.

I have recently joined TCS 4 months back and got one offer from Capgemini for AWS Devops role as a manager band C2 .I have 13 years of experience with very minimal 2 years experience in Devops .TCS has not assign any work till now .I am 36 and having loan and responsibilities.Good idea to change to Capgemini .Capgemini told me it is pool hiring for FS unit and later going to assign to project once I joined .I have current package is 23LPA and Capgemini offering 35LPA .
Is Capgemini FS going let go if we don’t get project ?
Is Capgemini FS unit with C2 band with 13 years of experience getting project is difficult ?
Please suggest how are the project in Devops side in Capgemini FS unit and work life balance ?
No work life balance in CG. Consider hike provided for your medical bills , family sacrifice, kids. Env is not great due to you have to work any time, any day to complete tasks. Post joining do not expect any hike for next 3 yrs. No promotion. Onboarding to first Project in cg , you cannot get released for next 18 months. Stay in same project or you have to resign if not willing to adhere for being in stipulated 18m. All the best. Decide wise!

I am in fs BU my manager is stuck in our project and he has to work from the client's location. The client is scolding him everyday. He has a lot of work pressure as he needs to manage 3 shifts It's a 24/7 project . He has been in capg for 17 years and he doesn't want to leave the capg. And even after completing 18 months in the project they are not letting him leave the project. He is senior manager in Capgemini. No hike for him and for all. No promotion neither you can leave the project. The only option remaining is to resign.
CG is giving you a very good hike especially when you have already switched in last 1 one year. But as you said you have more responsibility with loans and CG has done pool hiring, so job security wise TCS is best to stay. I would say if you can be allocated to project before joining then you should join CG coz getting billable project is tough in CG. Take your call according to your risk appetite.
That’s the only point which is stopping me as it was a pool hiring .Do you have any contacts or manager to reach out in FS unit to get allocated before joining ?
If you are ready to hard work, go for CG man.. you are 36 now, you won’t get much time make money. Take the risk. 12L difference is huge. All the best.
Yeah that is only reason which is hunting me just completed 36 😁..Actually 12L on paper but Nimu Tai will take 4L and gratuity medical insurance and variable pay will deduct some amount which is close to 1.5L .So altogether in hand 50k extra will get .Which is 5.5-6L maximum amount .But yeah what you said 💯 correct .Will take a call soon .Thank you so much for seeing my message and replying with valuable thoughts .
I guess considering the hike that would be good option. Coming to work life balance, its always the same in any company. I know people from various org and everyone comples the same. Its upto u how you manage work life. Even in tcs you wont be getting this much pay coming this year or so.
Projects depends upon your requirement.
I feel valued in CG. Everyone has got their opinion. Only benefit in tcs is you wont get fired. But that's the risk. We work for money and if CG brand is giving you, then this would be a good choice. Anyways you are not assigned to project in TCS. Also, TCS don't hire their ex employees.
So in my view work/life should not be the parameter to consider.
Getting project is not difficult for newly joined employee in pool.

I belong to FS and there are hardly any projects. The pool people will propose your profile for anything and everything. If you don't clear interviews, they will have a meeting and may put you in a performance improvement program. My advice to you is don't join CG. It's a bad organisation.
