HDFC Regalia Gold Credit Card

Recently, a sales representative called me from HDFC Bank offering the HDFC Regalia Gold credit card stating that it would be lifetime free for me since I'm an existing Credit card holder

I went through the charges for this credit card online and the annual fees is around Rs 2.5k

Would this credit card be actually free for lifetime or are there any hidden tricks here?

Lol and HDFC told me that they’ve stopped LTF for everyone when issuing new card even if u are existing card holder. Do confirm about LTF and it’s not that only 1st year is free. Altho if u are really getting it LTF then let me know and I’ll also post an email

Wtf. These are their words: “We wish to inform you that issuance of Life time free cards are discontinued currently and all cards issued are priced at First Year Free only. Having considered your request in line with the Bank's policy, we regret to inform you that we are currently unable to review your request for upgrade of your credit card as Life Time Free currently. We wish to clarify that the same is not in isolation to your card account but is followed as a standard procedure across all card accounts.”

Yes , there's certain customers Bank gives it to for free. If you're sceptical, before activating the card send a mail to customer care and confirm that it's LTF and cancel it if they don't confirm the same and clearly mention the reason

They make money from transactions that you do with the credit card.
Plus any late fees if you fail to pay on time.

Try getting diner black LTF, 1 RP = 1₹ on smartbuy which is 0.5₹ for regalia or diners privilege, would save more in the long run.

PS - Dont get any HDFC card other than infinia if not LTF, not worth it anymore

If you’re from tier 1 college they’ll give it to you for free, just talk to a relationship managar (yours or a friends).

If you’re not but have a good relationship with HDFC like 5-10L FD, salary account, company relationship with bank and are bringing in above 30-40L pa they might give you then also(this depends heavily on how the RM handles it)

Infinia is invite only afaik, also attracts an yearly fees of 12.5k + GST. Again go via someone who already has it

Thoughts on the HSBC Visa Platinum Credit Card? Interested in it because its LTF and as someone who flies regularly with connecting flights, it provides 3 domestic lounge access plus bogo free on movie tickets?
