Health Insurance

Hey Folks,

Please suggest good health insurance (family floater) with OPD & minimum waiting period, based on your personal experience.

TIA

OPD insurance is not a great product. The product pricing is so bad that it’s better to pay out of your pocket for it if and when you need OPD. Insurance as a product is good for covering unpredictable but high cost expenses. OPD while unpredictable, is low cost. So not a good use case for coverage.

Go for a good health insurance with high coverage. Id recommend the Acko health 1 cr / unlimited coverage plan, I have the product and it’s very comprehensive.

Nice suggestion, I was also thinking if having a OPD be a good option or not

How expensive was it to get the Acko 1Cr cover plan? And is there an option to cover parents?

You should like a novice to me while reading your expectations. Leave OPD and clauses like minimum waiting period etc. Different diseases have different waiting periods. Anyways, HDFC Optima Secure is the best available. Very expensive but very good.

Go for Acko. They're superb in claims settlement and no bullshit t&c. Ex-employee here.

Acko policy is a joke. Every family member should be part of the policy or the person should be divorcee or widower. Godigit is also same. Perfect example of hidden T&C.
