Help a new founder

I am a new founder in the D2C space. I just placed my first order from a Chinese supplier and am looking to list the product line on Amazon and my own website.

Any advice for me? Can be around anything. Hiring, selling on Amazon, building & selling on my own website, company registration, partnership arrangements, branding, positioning, packing, customer support etc.

Try to sell through own website only. You don’t get enough customer data from Amazon hence getting repeats will be a problem in the future. Use free word of mouth publicity to build your brand as much as possible. Don’t keep any shame or ego. If you have funds, use on paid marketing. Outsource as many tasks as possible other than ‘revenue generation’. Then once you have the funds, build a team and get those tasks in-house one-by-one. All the best!

Few points If you are importing from China and selling it here means it is a commodity product ( build your own brand)
Only brand owners can have A+listing on Amazon Selling commodity product on Amazon profitably is extremely difficult. There is huge competition. (Target niche and high margin product) Marketing spend will be high for commodity product (sell product which consumers actually need - pull factor and not push) Amazon is best platform in india for non branded products. People prefer products with reviews (focus on customer experience and reviews) Amazon is complex but do it yourself and get your hands dirty before outsourcing. Agencies will take you for ride of you don't know anything. Learn from Amazon learning videos
For FB ads attend free training sessions by Meta. Your own website won't get traffic and sales. Outsource admin tasks but learn and be involved. Don't act like startup founder.
