How do you fight the consistent dissatisfaction?

I have observed this( at least with my self) that whatever goals you set for your self ( X salary, Y net worth etc etc.) once you're there it becomes ordinary extremely fast and it starts feeling normal again and on you go towards the next milestone. I was wondering when does this end? Do any of you have reached a point where you don't have the lust for more? You're happy with what you have? Did you do something actively to make that mindset? Or were you a "satisfied with what you have" kind of a person all your life?

I think we're never satisfied because we are in an environment which makes it so much easy to compare and it forever feels like everyone around is doing so much better

I think being mindful and having a goal to anchor yourself really helps. What do you define as a point in your life when you feel you have enough? Sometimes maybe defining it non monetary terms can be helpful

I started out with a 4 lpa job and I was in love with Starbucks - it would be a treat for me whenever I would go buy myself a coffee. As trivial as it is in hindsight now, i remember thinking to myself back then that Man, if I could afford a Starbucks coffee everyday and not feel it pinch my pocket, then I'd be really content. Fast forward five years and im in that position, i laugh about how silly it was to think that way but somehow it stuck and makes me feel grateful for where I am now from time to time :)

Materialism has very little to do with psychological well-being. Being wealthy is not a life milestone and should not be the metric that defines or drives you.

You need to introspect (maybe also seek specific expert help) to try and find some meaning and figure out what makes you happy. It clearly isn't money.

I think I am satisfied with everything in life and i barely improve myself ngl. I feel bad for a moment when I compare myself with others, but that is but a fleeting emotion
