Man looking at you all, I have to say nothing beats living with family home in the same city.

I barely get 15k( not even) Max expenses per month. And I spend well in weekends. Occasionally buy clothes but that's about it. I can have a lot on all fronts. Rent + food majorly

That's one of the reasons behind the craze for sarkari naukri within same state as parents.
One of my friends saves his entire in hand salary of 80k living in his hometown. For expenses, he just uses his Ta bills.

Nope. Softies and even know nothing product managers earn more than 2.5 lakh a month after taxes. To top it they get insurance, stocks & several other benefits

Even if you cut down 1 lakh as expenses which is a lot, you will be saving double that of govt job. What I did mean is, if your parents live in big cities then you are lucky and can save quite a bit. At a small cost of some freedom

A decent living would mean 50k expenses per month including rent. That lands you with 18lpa after taxes. Which would come to about 23-24 lakhs before taxes...

Depends on lifestyle. One can earn 2L and spend all of that as well.

In that case he should earn 3 lpm or 50 lpa to save 1lpm. The idea of the poll is that different people have different spend-save habits and consequently need different levels of income to save 1lpm.

The poll is simply put more of a mirror into the consumer mindset of the youth in IT. I know that given my spending habits I would need 22 lpa to save 1lpm. But how much do the rest need. Or in other words, how much are the rest willing to spend/save.

I'll talk about myself and then maybe you can evaluate your case. I'm an extravagant spender on food, gifting and hotels.
I have an after tax 2 lakhs/month.
I have a 20 lakhs car on emi - 30k. And apart from that, 70k more is needed for me in Bengaluru. So I'm able to save around 1 lakh then. This 70k has - Rent, maid, cook, trips, hotels, gifting, EMI of my parents home.

Emi for your paternal asset should be considered an investment expenditure.

But irrespective of that, basically 28 lakh is adequate to save 1lpm when living a good life for a bachelor. Nice.

How old are you buddy?

Too vague. Depends on lifestyle.
