Good to see your interest in learning Kannada. 😊. I would suggest you to use google translations for basic learning. Make any localite friend. Watch kannada movies with Subtitles You can purchase kannada learning book in english version.
Best advice would be to connect to a friend who knows kannada. They will exactly know the words which you would be requiring on a daily basis to converse with other localites.
