by Immigrating to a new country and starting a new life. Sick of this scarcity, struggle for every single fucking thing from getting a entry in local train, then slogging at work like donkey and then realising some MBA asshole will dictate your careers, then you think of becoming that asshole by getting masters but again fucking competition there, then wondering why the fuck am I paying taxes on your commute back to home in packed local train like a cockroaches, then struggle to get quality food, quality water and quality air, then again struggle to go to sleep and the Final struggle to wake up

But being the only child of my family and being their retirement fund is binding me here.

Sure other developed countries also have a competition but not to the extent of India.

They compete to have the most fruitful and relaxed life. We compete with our neighbours bank balance to get our social ego massaged. It’s a sick country.

No family = no responsibility = no purpose of life = no living just existing until a person finds a higher calling

This only happens in dreams. Your parents won’t let you live such a good life. They’ll be like humne shaadi karke suffer kiya hai ab tu bhi bhugat is narak ko.
Indian parents are selfish.

Not enough people realise this. It's not about getting you married.
Indian parents (till our generation) have led a life of scarcity (pre 1991 scarcity). They "performed their duties" of raising children and whenever they felt their children were actually cracking the lottery of upward social mobility through education, they sacrificed everything else in their miserable lives and overindexed on their child's education.
Reason: child is the ticket to upward social mobility Same reason why they keep poking their noses in their child's adult life. India does not understand the concept of the child becoming an adult. Reasons are very selfish in the garb of altruistic intentions. And the entire society drinks this Kool Aid.

Their version of responsibility and ours greatly varies. Even though people with comfortable lifestyle, their parents too crave for a lifestyle where society massages their ego !!!

I'm living that life. Parents are well off, and I'm single and live alone.

Every day, I just eat, do office work, watch TV, read books, listen to music, and sleep. That's more than enough to keep me occupied in life. 😅

I hope that I'll be able to continue this same daily routine till the day I die of old age. Wouldn't be a bad life at all. 😄

I would have managed the traffic on Marathahalli bridge. Somehow I think that would have a much better impact on the whole world than anything else I could do. 😂

Assuming i have enough money then i like to explore new places, people, culture, food etc. like spending a year in some random place and then switch to other place/country

Life could be enjoy till 50 or 60's thereafter you would need someone who sit beside you...so this is also one part of reality of life.

Looking at the state the world is it's going to be a lot worse. By 2055 euthanasia would probably be legal, if not go to a country where it is legal, donate organs and rest in peace. Till then enjoy life to the fullest.

Job itself keeps you busy. But since no commitments you still have a lot of time to do things in life

What's your retirement corpus goal?

How much do you think is enough?

It's usually never enough for a lot of people and life is bound to throw a lot of curveballs along the way (for better or for worse), but what's the first figure that comes to your mind at which you feel...
