How's the scope for ECE graduate in next 5years ?

It all depends on the following directions -

1. ECE graduate goes to VLSI ecosystem - You must have read about latest developments in chip packaging, fabrication units being set up in India. These plants are mult-billion $ investments and will need a high number of engineers.

2. The software direction - Generally people pick this option as a large number of jobs emerge in this field. You can play the role of dev, QA, or PM based on your skills and inclinations. A lot depends on the college you are graduating from.

3. Telecom Engineering - A lot of ECE grads go to telecom companies like Ericsson, Nokia, ZTE etc as India serves as a servicing hub.

4. Many other directions - I haven't captured people going to microwave engineering, instrumentation engineering etc

Overall, the scope is huge as the devices around us are increasing. Make sure you make the best use of your time on campus for learning & fun. Maintain grades in the top 10 percentile, life won't be too hard on you.
