Has anyone ever received a notice from the Income Tax department for declaring an HRA component without giving the relevant proofs to their employer?

If you are working from home, just send some money as rent to your parents and get a rental agreement or receipts. You can have them as a proof.
You can't. They may raise query and ask you to submit proofs, rent receipts. If you cant provide then it will be penalized.
