What would you consider a good value for money mobile that I could buy provided I don't intend to switch phones for 4 or 5 years atleast, maybe longer if keeps running.

The last one I bought was a Mi phone which lasted about 2 years before it's camera gave out and effectively I have to pay the price of a new one to repair it and personally I am fed up with their service experience. So I don't mind spending money on a good one provided it would last long (would be exchanging the Mi phone as well for whatever it is worth).

+1 on this one.

Would like to know, whether a smartphone of ~80k would last (<5 yrs) if used with good care.

I had samsung s23, iPhone 15 in mind as of oct '23 (I'm looking for a small screen phone hence didn't mention the pro versions)

But not sure if they would work with similar, if not the best performance in the future.

Provided technology changes at such rapid rate, along with intentional company updates that are meant to slow the phone.

Would buying a phone of 80k with the hopes of using it for the next 5 years a good decision?

Please do tell me which Mi phone this is. For 4 years, any smartphone above 30k will run. For 5 years, get an android phone with snapdragon 8+ gen 1 or newer. I need things like budget and what your requirements are before making an actual suggestion. If you don't care about android / apple then get an iPhone 14 or later, you cannot go wrong with it. Skip the 15 pros though.

  1. Which phone to purchase, topmost criteria photos, battery, need to have 3.5mm jack, budget<40K
  2. Currently using 600 rp earphones for office work need help what to purchase wireless vs wired, earphones vs headphones budget given office can spend 10K if there is durability
  3. We love taking pictures but to be honest have never used DLSR would you recommend to buy one just for photos
  4. According to you what all minimum tech equipments one should have- I think I'm not investing much here
  5. Anything you would like to recommend for fitness

  1. This was harder to answer than the vacuum cleaner question. I strongly suggest you drop your 3.5mm jack requirement and get a Oneplus 11r. If you still want it, Asus Zenfone 9, Poco F5 Pro. Former is older and smaller but has a better camera experience. Poco is suffering a PR ISSUE so if you get motherboard warranty then go for it.
  2. Durability of your headphone depends on how carefully you handle your tech. Headphones : Anker Q35 is an insane pair of headphones and it has been sold at 8k before. Else any Sony around 8k is a safe bet. Wireless is better, but there is the hassle of charging. For office I use wired earphones even though I have multiple options.
TWS ear buds : oppo enco air 3 (forgot the exact name), Nothing ear (2), oneplus buds pro 2
  3. No, we have DSLR and it is simply a hassle to use. Better to invest in a better camera phone with good storage (any pixel from 7 series onwards recommended here)
  4. While I keep a minimum requirement for myself and update my gadgets regularly, I know that not everyone needs everything. If you don't need a tech product, it ends up collecting dust and becomes a waste. That being said, wired earphones and wireless headphones, BT speakers, phone, power bank, a multi port GaN charger if you have laptop + phone + headphones that charge with USB C, a desk top (or under) extension box with USB A and C ports, a USB hub, laptop stand, mouse, the best chair you can afford, a tablet / ultrabook that isn't work related, a separate phone (if you can afford) for specific functions. Anyone can add to this list and I will approve / say why it isn't required.
  5. A good smartwatch can track your workouts (invest in a fitbit, galaxy watch, pixel watch, or apple watch if you really care). A fitness band does the trick but they are unfortunately going out of fashion because people prefer big displays.
  6. No idea what your parents need it for but decathlon has trustworthy ones
  7. A Google Nest / Alexa smart speaker.

This can be good side hustle (paid)

I have gotten paid in the past for this. But people are unwilling to pay. And when they do it feels like a token of appreciation rather than a transactional relationship (which I would prefer). Might as well do it for free now, since it's more of a hobby / passion than something I would do full time.

Thanks for the suggestion though

Mi QLED TV 55

Why this over the OnePlus tv? Tbh the one plus TV is 5-6k more than the mi one, but it also has a more recent Android OS version and I think better speaker/screen specs?

Best tws, headphones and wired IEms and your thoughts on these

Need your budget! TWS is the best except if you are a gamer. Then I'd say investing in a Headphone that has BT and aux functionality is best. IEMs offer the best sound quality, but obviously - they're wired. Cost effectiveness of IEMs are quite interesting because the best consumer ones rarely cross 2k. Many find them comfortable for long hours, but I don't, so comfort is based on individual.

How do you determine which expenses need your attention ?

Someone recently told me not to spend time on expenses which are less than 1% of your total net worth.

I don’t know if I can do that. I think of this way, if it satisfies the below rules only then I don’t give it a thought
