Is Mercor legit???
I got in vetted pool and given an interview in which I got reiected. But today again one US based comapny is reaching out through it for interview. Not sure if is it legit. Do anyone have experience to share?
Received an AI interview mail from Mercor. (Check screenshot)
I remember they were showing multiple job postings on LinkedIn a while back (with compensations like 15-40 LPA).
Turns out that they are not exactly hiring for their own company but are extending the profile to other companies using their own hiring platform (which was a bit weird since the job description did not mention anything like this and it was easy apply).
I have been seeing a trend from different startups that post job openings which lead to either signing up on their own hiring platform or collecting user data in some way. This feels similar.
Does this actually lead somewhere or are they just using applicants to train their model?
What do you guys think?
No they're just using these interviews to train their AI. You'll get a rejection email soon after your interview. Don't waste your time on this bs.
Not everyone gets rejected. I got a shortlisted email, so did many others (there was a doubt clearing session with 20 or so people who got shortlisted)
Did anyone get an offer? They seem to be doing this AI interview thing for a long time now. These days with readily available labour, it doesn't take that long to build a team, right?
Not legit! If they are genuinely hiring, why wouldn't they bother to get an HR representative to call the candidate? What is up with this AI interview? Many companies are doing this and it looks like a practice to train their AI modal. Do not be bothered to interview and waste your time for a company that does not bother to give you a call from the HR rep.
They're legit man - its just a new spin on recruitment
They are a legit website. Just a tad bit unmanaged so you are not going to get the best experience everytime.
I also got an email from Mercor saying I was chosen for a job and they found my LinkedIn profile. Some of my friends and coworkers also received similar emails, but only a few took the job offer and others were still sceptical and unsure, so did not bother following up.
I am not at all sure if this job is real as some of my friends work there, so it could be legit, but, a lot of their job ads on LinkedIn were made by inexperienced people, which makes me doubt the company's validity and if the job listed even exists.
One of my friends took a coding test, in their interview, and talked to an AI assistant and it seemed smart and asked good questions, but I'm unsure if Mercor is using it to train their AI and collect real data from its interview candidates. The AI focused on certain topics, like C# string performance, and often got stuck in loops, which made me doubt how well this interview method works.
I haven't acted yet because I'm not sure if this chance is real. My advice here would be to please make your own decision and research before considering Mercor. If you're worried, ask the company for more information.

It went through my resume, parsed it and asked me questions related to the companies I worked with, projects and technologies/tools.
It understood the context from my answers, and asked me follow up questions. If I gave slightly va...
Has anyone seen this? I've given two interviews recently The first round was taken by AI. If you stick to Q&A, don't ask counter questions there's no way you can differentiate between humans / bots.
Maybe HR can make pixel perfect rango...
One of my connection was working on a very strong fintech company but recently joined this Remotasks as an AI trainer.
I feel like it's fishy/ spam
Make noise if you're aware of it! Correct me if I'm wrong...
