I have a got offer in CTS. This is direct project hiring but I also got know some are short term projects.

How is job security in Cognizant? Bench and Layoff policies?

Dont join if you are already working in a decent company. Job security is not a thing in cognizant. Many of my colleagues have been fired due to bench policies. If you are willing to take risk then only join.

Let me share my own story. I was working in a project for around 1 year and then the project ramped up. They put all of us on bench and most of them were fired including my manager. I somehow managed to get into a project and they also removed most of us saying they needed support for peak team. I have again landed in bench and do not know my fate. I was doing good in my project still they removed me.

Don't join...they will say they are hiring directly for projects but you will be put on bench

is there any case where the lateral hires were hired , put on bench and asked to voluntarily resign? within few months???????? I had conversation with people inside cognizant working on same tech stack as I am and what I heard is there project requirement 🤔

It is very peculiar.. hiring and project demand are not in sync. Many times resources will join but positions are not there

If you joined cognizant as per the company policy for the first 180 days u are not eligible for the ageing and all after that they will hardly give u 20-35 days otherwise u have to put resign or they will terminate. Current cognizant don't have good resource issue so finding project now a days is easy in compare to Q2, Q3 but most of the project are short terms like 3-6 month period so consider that point.

No, please don't join cognizant. One of my devops friend got hired from different organisation. He got allocated to a project but then they released him without any reason and put him on bench. After that termination letter was provided to him by saying he is not following RTO but in reality he was following RTO as well when he was on bench. Also hikes are not good here. Honestly speaking they hire unskill people (mass hiring) and terminate / force resign skilled people..That's why comoany is on the loss.

One of my friend was hired in Feb for a project requirement which he was later told that it got fulfilled with other candidate. So, he was asked to find another project in 6 months. Once he completed 6 months, he was given a deadline of 35 days. Since he couldn't find anything, he was asked to resign

Ps- in CTS, you have to find projects on your own. And since they don't have many projects, it's difficult to find anything
