Layoff at Paytm
Is there any one from Paytm , who can confirm if there’s a silent layoff happening there. I have an offer as SSE , but have heard from multiple people that work culture is detoriating very fast and almost 20% are undergoing PIP.

My friend was an early stage employee at Paytm. He stayed for 4+ years, built a lot of what Paytm is today.
Working with the founder effed up his mental health beyond repair. One fine day, he left for Ladakh without informing anyone and when contacted, asked them to terminate him as he had decided not to return and not to serve his notice. He is doing well now, but he has to visit his therapist every week.
Paytm has had one of the worst cultures since its inception.

I know someone who was laid off in 3 months (no POSH, no indiscipline).

When was this? Very recent? PayTM is killing it in lending, share prices have reached IPO listing day price, they were also briefly profitable according to their last results

When did paytm share price reach IPO listing level? Its briefly at half of IPO listing price! Forget about getting to IPO price😒

I've worked with Paytm in a product role. My manager had resigned as well a few months after I did. Had a candid conversation after that on why the culture was so shady af. Believe me when I say this, You'll not want to work there in a few weeks of joining. But try talking to any Ex employee who had quit in the last two years before making a decision. Maybe things are changed now.

Can confirm. A friend has just been laid off.

Worst company to ever work with
I worked with paytm for 1.5 years after which they force me to resign, if you have your salary on higher side you can expect management to force you to resign anytime, I was top performer of my team, still they put me on PIP, how can you give someone award for best performer and give him PIP after 3 months , my manager was toxic Tarini from EDC backend team

Culture is bad atleast in product and engineering. Everything is top down, no autonomy.
There is no end time, no respect for someone’s time and hard work.
Senior folks yell and use loose language all the time. I will suggest look elsewhere.

I have a friend who works there. He said a couple of weeks back, people were asked to resign. It seems they hire ex-CPO of stripe who I guess worked in MX players as well. He is doing some fat shredding in the product team.

am starting to thin, when they put you on PIP, especially companies that are on loss. Quit them , even without a job in hand. So that atleast they will process and pay the FnF. If you are going to wait until, they fire you on a flimsy reason, at that point they may even not have money to settle your payments.

Layoffs coming up at Paytm
Heard that Paytm is planning to layoff 10% of entire work force. Across all levels.
Heard cases that folks who were hired at market premium less than 30 days ago are now being asked to leave the organisation.
And the layoffs will be h...

Actually, these are not layoffs. They recently changed their PIP policy and set a " at least 10%" quota for compulsor...

Yes. I was the first casualty of the day

Absolutely! One entire floor is booked by HR for firing. Already the process has started!

They should first layoff the incompetent overpaid toxic VPs and Product Heads. Especially RD.

Paytm layoffs
Can someone confirm about Paytm layoffs? Are layoffs only happening at PPBL or Paytm overall as well?
