Hi everyone! After founding and building a health and wellness startup for over 2 years, I’m now exploring new career opportunities across industries.
Here’s a quick overview of my background:
- Founded and led a startup, overseeing business development, product strategy, operations, and customer acquisition.
- Previously worked in the IT industry for 17 years, with a strong focus on project management and product innovation.
Would appreciate advice on the following:
- Should I highlight my recent startup experience in business development and operations, or my earlier experience in project management within IT?
- Do companies value hiring former startup founders, or is there a stigma associated with hiring entrepreneurs? If so, any tips on addressing it? Would it help to position this as a sabbatical instead?
- Should I aim for roles in industries similar to my IT background, or explore opportunities in high-growth, funded startups relevant to my current startup experience?
- Any suggestions on how to go about the job hunt itself, esp after 40 ? Are there specific strategies that work well for founders re-entering the workforce?
I am sorry if there were too many questions.
Thank you in advance for your insights and suggestions!
