Macbook for personal use

Hello everyone I am planning to buy a MacBook for my personal use budget is ~1L. I have a few options: 1: Macbook pro 2019 i7 16/512 ~ 45-50k (refurbished) 2: Macbook air M1 16/255 ~1.2L (over budget)

Will the 2019 i7 macbook pros survive for the next 3-4 years? Or should I increase my budget and go for m1/m2?

I would not recommend you to go for Intel based macs. They heatup a lot and battery life is crap. Only go for one of you can find in 10-20k. I got one in 10k where the screen was a little dim on one corner and one of the key was not working properly.

Stretch your budget a bit and go for an Apple Silicon one. It’s future proof

Do not choose the Intel Macs at all unless it's necessary for your workflow. You'd be so much much better off getting an M series Mac

I am using a 2020 i5 Intel MBP Pro, RAM: 16 GB, it heats up a lot, battery life is crap and is slow after I run a couple of containers, I recently bought a M2 MacBook Air with 8GB memory and that works better than my Intel MBP

I had gotten M2 Air 16/256 at around ~1.15 lakh with the help of student discount. One of the best purchases of my life

Been using 16gb Air M1 for 2 years. No heating issues. No lagging or slowing down. I’ll wholeheartedly recommend it. What is your usecase?

Intel based MacBooks are known for their heating issues and poor battery life.

I would suggest you to increase your budget to get an apple silicon based macbook.

And I would also suggest going for a Pro version with minimum 16 gigs of RAM rather than going with the normal version.

Check if you can get the MBP M1 edition. That’s a really good machine and has good battery backup. Have been using since 2021. Not much for coding, but mostly for heavy media editing.

There is one more option. If you know any students from your family and friends. Best to get through them. Apple offers student discount through Unidays. The discount is around 10%. Just got it checked from my cousin. It’s showing 107900 for MBA M1 16/256.

Better to stay away from Intel ones. They are power hungry plus performance lower than M1 machines.

Whatever happens, dont buy the butterfly keyboard intel ones.

MacBook Air M1 in 2023

It is available for 65k (8gb/256gb) on Amazon after cash back and there will be further discounts in the coming sale. Is it a good buy in 2023? My usage is mostly browsing, emails, and excel work. My office has PCs and we don’t work remo...
