You dont choose your family, culture, body type, gender, parents, siblings, country, location, cast, creed, colleagues, strength, weakness. You can choose your spouse but again in limited extent. you cant choose in-law family. you hardly can choose anything. Still we fight over right over wrong choices. Best thing can be understand this fact and learn how to adjust with and make maximum out of situation.
Try this and realise yourself. Meditating 15 min everyday can work wonder, you will be saved from impulsive reaction and response to so many situations or a person.
Learn to enjoy your own company and solitude. Always depending upon the company of other people for happiness, thus giving the control of your emotions to others, is a source of great pain and conflict.
Use work mode or similar features on your phone to keep social media distractions minimum when working.
It will also help you improve your mental health as you are reducing your cognitive load by decreasing the context switching.
