Google isn't much better either tbh.
Ad accounts arbitrarily stopped can disrupt cashflows in a major way. I'm seeing a lot of startups struggle with frequent algo/rule changes and blocked accounts.
Sad to see.
If we ever get sanctioned by the US they can make tech companies remotely block your Google/Facebook/insta/insert tech company account.
Your apple/Microsoft devices can get remotely disabled
Designers won't be able to use any Adobe apps
Your imported car will get software locked.
Just because they haven't doesn't mean they won't do it in the future.
Lack of Indigenous tech stack that we strategically control will be our Achilles heel. Most of the world is in the same boat. They have made it amply clear that they are willing to use that power dynamic strategically with most Western companies stopping their services on Russian soil.
Russia had a Plan B. We don't.
Govt is promoting its own platforms though, which is actually good
Ondc like networks, Indian app store, UPI are all steps in the right direction
Twitter managed to reach enough critical mass to become very sticky, like fb/meta. Very difficult to dethrone segment leaders by upstarts after a point.
Usually arbitrarily just means they know what they did but can’t talk about it.
They want it to be govt controlled not because it would be fairer, but cos it would give them ways to reach out through contacts or bribe people to get things done or look the other way when they break a rule. Something a common man is anyway screwed by anyway.
Anyway, these bunch of India entrepreneurs are arrogant enough to think that they are entitled to use facebook or Google’s services and do it without paying anything. They know how to work the crowd and we keep falling for that.
Oh I'm very sure he knows the reason behind that "arbitrary"
He's still only one player. Seeing it happen with other big and small d2c brands too.
Almost every week i see a founder complain about their ad spend happening irregularly or all spend finished in a day or account getting blocked entirely.
I stopped doing ads in my startup after they blocked our account. Even the personal Facebook account is almost impossible to recover now because of pathetic support.
Nobody to help shows incompetency in his performance marketing team. Usually, non-compliance notices are ignored or is sent to the finance email ID(which is updated while onboarding), which marketing team might not be aware of.
Meta swiftly reactivates if the team connects to the right person (which his marketing team should ideally should have).
Yeah you'd think large accounts would have POCs to connect with, maybe they don't actually spend that much on digital ads? 🤷♂️
Meta and google has processes of issuing notices for violation of terms before disabling an account which his team would have missed.
If it is not major part of ur traffic, then why worry so much and pick a public fight?

Edtech layoffs still continuing?
Teams were asked to strictly work from home for today because of plumbing work going on in the office. Roughly 300 people were laid off in a townhall hosted by the founders.
How will they tell people that their courses will help get a job in a product company now?
