I'm asking this out of curiosity (don't judge), Does Microsoft give windows laptops to their software development engineers? @microsoft
Everybody need a machine for the dev purpose irrespective of OS.

You get Windows laptops unless there is a business need for Mac (some software only runs on Mac, like Xcode for Mac/iOS app dev)
Okay means if you are doing day to day coding in java.. you will not get a mac. Am I right?
By default it's a windows laptop, can be thinkpad/surface But if you are working on mobile app dev/ios app dev, then you'll also get mac pro
Windows obviously why would Microsoft give a Mac? Only if you are developing for a Mac would you get a mac
Haha. I had this question as well. I did ask my friends in Microsoft. They have windows os laptops. Not sure if they have a choice to select mac/unix
