PM roles aren't reducing, there's been an influx of PMs in the market. With a lot of courses on product management, people with no development experience just learn product management and apply to PM roles.
In its essence, PMs should be developers as well. Its like: All PMs should be devs, but not all devs should be PMs.
Very misguiding comment. PM can come from any background. Each background gives the PM strength in some area they can leverage.
Customer service - User Empathy
Engineering - Tech
Marketing - Growth/Branding/Launch, etc
Design - Design

Yep, totally agreed. I wasn't implying that only devs can be PMs. I was trying to imply that PMs SHOULD have some development experience or know how to code.
Yes, PMs can come from any background. But a good PM will have working knowledge of design, marketing, engineering, customer support, HR (team and stakeholder management), amongst other things.
Product management courses focus less on tech/engineering (from what I've researched, even for myself).
