Notice Period

Hi Everyone,

Saying from personal experience, I have noticed that 10/10 times I am getting rejected if I say notice period to be 90 days during a Job Switch. All companies are looking for 30/60 days joiners. Even though they themselves have 90 days notice period in their organisation. But let us say if you say to HR that my notice period is 60 days and then get selected, how to manage? How to securely transition from one organisation to another. How to negotiate the notice period effectively?

If you are confident that you will secure a job, and don’t have any liabilities on you, I’d suggest to start serving.

For me, I took the shittier route, and absconded after first 30 days of my 90 day notice because the company decided to force me into staying back by withholding my salary (said so in the email as well). Since I joined a startup, I cooked up some story that made me look like a victim, and they didnt care about my previous employer.

See if you can take this route as well, although big companies run heavy background checks, so this might surface

I can recommend you one way and that’s to join an early startup, you can join them as contractor during your notice period and after full time

But this also risk into what if they revoke their offer during your notice period
