Work life balance is intact. But more than position, it’s dependent on org culture. Some orgs have what I call Friday fever. Things invariably come up on a Friday evening!
Not in a senior position, but in my company, when Friday evening starts, unless it's an Important Task everything else is pushed to next week to start fresh from Monday. Which I feel is good, as you don't go back home stressed and have some free time by the end of the day.
Ofc work life balance increases. People who report to you do most of the work as you grow in seniority. Your job is to just sit and ensure nothing goes off & ofc make them do what you think is right
