Private Job vs GOV Job

Recently seeing many Instagram influencers/ reels who are doing Gov job and posting their travel, hobbies etc. Am I right to believe that they are able to pursue hobbies due to WLB in their job.

As for IT people after some experience start earning very good then the GOV salary but still that can be achieved by GOV employee with side hustle or doing side business as they get time for their life.

Is this possible with IT? Does people with higher salaries are able to pursue their hobbies or still at that point.. Longer working hours, continous upgrading our skill will haunt us.

Do we get to live any life at any point in our entire job Or is it better to have a life with Gov Job and hobbies and side hustles.

In companies like Microsoft, Oracle, Salesforce,Servicenow, etc
WLB is even better than government jobs

There are only a limited number of govt jobs. If you can get one, there is nothing like a govt job or a PSU job. Private jobs - learning is something which you have to do through out your life. WLB definitely improves as you are senior . But if you are a CXO kind of person and highly ambitious, then off course long hours . Else life is smoother once you are higher up .

Thanks for response. I understand the scenario now. I feel the constant urge to travel or play a sport, learn a music instrument. But currently as a fresher in IT there is no time and it seems always I have to skill up to clear promotion exams, prepare to switch jobs, keep up with technology and when I reach some seniority level I am not sure if I would be left with the energy or even the will to do other stuff.
