Refusing to tell last salary
How many folks here 100% refuse to share last salary and are adant that HR state their budget. How do you guys do it and also has it ever happened that you needed up losing a great opportunity coz of this???

I have done it. The only way to do it is to tell the HR that you are OK with not receiving an offer.
Even at Microsoft, the HR will threaten with not releasing the offer. I told them to not bother releasing the offer.
Problem is that usually it's a low ball offer that is sent first and you will need to negotiate again.
So unless your salary is way below market standards, you maybe better off sharing your salary.
