Returning back to India from Dubai

Hi I moved to Dubai from Bangalore 3.5 years back. I have total 5.5 years of experience as Software Engineer. Is it worth coming back to Bangalore now? If yes, why and how much salary I can expect based upon my experience? If no why? At that time I was earning 24lpa. I have always worked in startups and would prefer to work in same.

As someone who wishes to go to Gulf/ Dubai as Software Developer, I would appreciate if you could share your Dubai working experience and compensation they provide for someone with similar experience

Pros: You get great work life balance here even in early startups, you get chance to work with people from different culture and ethnicity and stable economic conditions. India is very close. Easy to travel anywhere from here. AED to INR conversion rate is high. Easy to find any Indian food.

Cons: There is no tax but its costly, housing/life style is costly, kid’s education is costly. Most companies do not have appraisal system. Summers are hard.

Contrarian opinion - imo it’s totally worth it if you are a kannadiga, can afford a big independent house in a nice area like Jayanagar (which will cost 3-5cr) and take WFH for most of the time.

Western part of Bangalore - the real Bangalore - is really beautiful. Life is amazing here. But the commute to east Bangalore shithole workplaces will kill you; you need hybrid or WFH

I am not a kannadiga and neither planning to ever buy a house. I used to live in Koramangala/ Indiranagar and that was amazing as well.

I agree i am wondering if i can get some hybrid or WFH option there it would be nice.

Bangalore for better salary

Does it make sense for someone at 35LPA in project management with 18 years of experience to relocate to Bangalore for a better salary.

What I have heard is that salaries are better in Bangalore in general.
