When men do this: Jerk, when women does it: Strong
Yup, because its normalised and expected for men to be unbothered. However if a woman does it, then she becomes the target of criticism and stands out from the βagreeableβ personality that all women are expected to be. Hence; strong.
FYI its not just for work. It can be something our mothers do to stand up for themselves. Do not hate an entire gender, its not an achievement to be born π«Άπ»
All are expected to be agreeable. Boys who behave this way are called "awara"
I saw this on Twitter and after going through the profiles of girls interacting with it, i could easily see most of them were from quite privileged backgrounds.
I doubt if they faced any of the issues which we say women face in the industry.
They use such statements only for "the reach", nothing else, they have nothing to do with women empowerment or anything close to that.
It is irrespective of privileged or not. To get things what you want in life, you need to have f all attitude. Just giving you example, girls are taught to behave in a certain way since childhood to be called as a good girl and it takes a lot of time and betrayal to unlearn these things. I like strong and bold women. Ppl take advantage of kindness. So it is imp to be nice with nice ppl and having f all attitude with others.
Hurting ourself to attain image of good girl/being likeable just damages oneself more than doing anything good for yourself.
Your definition also seem perfect for what we call chappri or awara boys?
I liked this. I would've asked something similar. It's quite difficult to be a woman, especially in India.
I just wish we could do more for them to make it less painful. I am just happy to embrace future where the younger generation understands empathy and strives to make it a fair environment for them to live in.
It's a Privilege to be born a man in a patriarchal society like ourselves
I echo this sentiment. My dad never saw my achievements but only noticed my brother's. This is not limited to my dad but sadly female relatives and others around. Like women get discredited even after having achieved a lot.
My fiance is such a such and a supportive guy, I've seen a lot of great men like him. I guess it's the older generation that's messed up, both men and women. I'm ready to break the generational curses.
I always thought to myself. I wish I was born a man, life would have been a little better 'not easier for sure'. Men have their own battles. But the working women has to deal with it all, family, work, meeting everyones expectations and still getting judged for it.
I understand and you are right.
I am also happy for you to have found a great Fiancee. I know how difficult it is to find a right person for you
In future: shouting with banners on streets, why men go for younger females, I identify as a zebra, men ruined my life, blablabla gender pay gap I will only work half the hours, stronk independent no need of men but therapist and rehabilitation
It has already started now and no one calls them out when they go for only those men who earn 4 or 5 times of what they earn. Hypocrisy of the highest order
I'll go first: "I want you to focus on doing good work and not on how much money you're making." Achchha aur mera rent kaun dega?
"2% is a good increment, considering the current environment"
My boss has recently hired new people in the team and has started giving extra work to them instead of giving it to the old folks.
How do I ignore this, should I ask for more work or should I keep ignoring it. Any idea would be helpful...
