Toxic traits of manager
Let's pour your heart out and share the worst experience you had (or having) while dealing with your manager (do add company name)
In one of my project delivery, i finished work at 5am and went home... Project was done as well.
It was like night slogging for few weeks continuously.
Next day I came office at afternoon and mgr scolded me saying that I should have slept either in office or came back after 2-3h.
That single stuff forced me to leave that firm.
In my first job, my manager didn't interview (he was absent) and later he was not happy thay I was offered and joined next day. So he used to make fun or taunt me. I was new to corporate and I know it gonna be tough and there's no going back. And the end I win him over and he did cried when I left that company. I did selflessly have given so much to that company. But he's not good human being.
Had a manager who played so much internal politics, it was crazy. We were a team of 10, he would constantly tell me that my super bosses don't like me but apparently he always stood up for me
He practically coerced the entire team to give him a good review. He was just childish and would threaten that he could ruin your career and had in roads with the HR and could out who had given him a bad review (they are supposed to be anonymous and aggregated)
The minute I got an opportunity to switch teams, i noped out of there instantly
As much as people shit on HR, saying you have 'in roads' with HR is a huge violation of ethics. If they are a reasonably established company, they operate on very strict guidelines. This is very 'babu' like and would easily be actionable in a well known company. Looks like a petty idiot covering his bases.

A manager asked me to submit all my work as his and kept telling the senior team that I was worthless. Got to know once I shared a document and a particular formula didn’t copy during download and he had to ask me in front of the CEO how does it work.

Another manager was just dumb. Pretended to be someone who was a pro at what he did, but knew nothing, and didn’t hear anything.
It irks me no end how so many seniors take credit for work done by their reportees. Boss move on your part that your manager's incompetence was on display, that too in front of the CEO.
