Unpopular Opinion: I prefer Work from Office

I know this is not what majority of people like to listen, but for people coming from other cities with no friends and poor social skills, working remote or hybrid starts taking a toll on your mental health.

The isolation it brings is so overwhelming. You feel trapped and frustrated, when there's no one to talk to.

Sometimes, I feel the quality of life of our kind of lower than street vendors at least they have people they can talk to. I just hate the way we are wired to be social animals yet find it overly difficult to connect with people.

If you are early stage of your career if you don't have responsibility at home you should come to office it's a healthy approach but for people like me who has already spend more than a decade in office life and has a small child at home working for home is like a saviour for me and my wife

Exactly! I was about to say this. I worked for a decade in-office and even during pandemic. My current role, I looked for a fully remote role so I could spend most of time with my little bundle of joy.

but office without senior doesn't make sense, a part of work from office is more helpful is because senior are much more approachable there

This isn't an unpopular opinion

Entitled and lazy bums would say otherwise

I doubt it's entitlement or lazyness. It's generally not working from office itself that's ticks people off. It's the never ending traffic jams, bad roads, time wasted, and the frustration of being on these roads that does.

Agree agree agree.

Work is a social construct. Social interaction is must

I agree with you. I feel the same. After i got my 1st job i thought i would socialize in new city new people i might even change some things in my character to communicate.

Basically not a online person I prefer in person interaction much better for relationships either friends or family or work.
But complete WFH just evaporated my thoughts before even starting.

Agreed. WFO is not as bad as people make it out to be. Hybrid option is the best.

There is merit in both sides of the argument. That's why I feel hybrid is the best approach, with employees exercising their judgement on when and how long they need to be in office and at home.

Also who are wasting your prime years of youth sitting idle in home. This is the best time to travel and explore different places.

You're comparing work from HOME with work from RENTED HOUSE. Obviously that's not good. If you're to stay in your rented home 1000miles away from home, then obviously going to office is much better option.

Call out your office who's unnecessarily mandating coming to the city just to pay rents

When your team is a blessing, working from office will be one of the best things in life.
