WFH means work from anywhere?

Why do people think that work from home means we can work from anywhere, in a car, bus, crowd, I personally feel like it's a disrespect to IT employees when someone tells me, come to a function and work from there, I mean it's a real work which needs its own environment to work with, anyone feel the same?

Totally agree.. I'm all for attending some pointless meetings once in a while when you are stuck or get some unplanned work but I don't think I can work from anywhere. I need my chair, my table and a lot of concentration. It's more like earning your pay for the day.

Then I think it's better to provide desktop to every employee working from home.

And I think there are many things which is not proper for it company. Please raise voice for that also.

By that logic, companies should not hold or force employees attend pointless meeting, being a manager doesn't mean, the job is to forward emails saying please take care of ask for updates alone, when being on bench it's not employee responsibility to find a project, working from office means one should not be forced to login during non working hours to attend critical issues, i

Employees don't cheat, employees are forced to cheat.

This doesn't have anything to do with the company, it's about people' assumption that IT job requires one to just type with the laptop and that can be done from anywhere, in other words, they think that it's real easy and doesn't require any seriousness, which shows disrespect. They wouldn't assume the same if a doctor was working online and giving prescription online because they think doctor job is serious, if you know what i mean

Bro you're a consultant. Everything about your job is usually pointless, right?

According to you WFO means employees should work during office hours 9-5 clock their 8 hrs and strictly log off after 5 right? No extended working hours weekends etc

BS!

I feel the same but I have seen my colleagues and managers tour the world and work, idk how they do it but I am envious of that skill, as you said, I need my own separate space and mindset to work

It actually means work from a place where you are comfortable and most productive. It can be a remote hill-station, a beach, a farmhouse, a house in metro also but it cant be in public places for sure. Working from car, bus crowd is totally exploitation. It can be one of instance which you can count during your employment like a massive outage. If it becomes regular then its toxic work, leave it ASAP.

Let me give you the other perspective. I actually worked from everywhere and anywhere I wished too in the earlier days of wfh era i.e post COVID. I pretty much enjoyed it and I was not too burdened so I could pull it off. Now ofcourse I can't since work is more. But the real problem arised when my family got to know about it when once or twice I went to bank in the office hours by working till late and then everyone around was like, can you go to market just compensate till late or can u attend this gathering with the laptop. Then I realised it's me who dig the grave for myself
