What can you expect from Grapevine in the next few weeks?

Hi Grapeviners

Over the last month or so we announced two massive products that are as big as Grapevine itself: 

1. Private Company groups with verification 2. Salaries on Grapevine

Thousands of you have since adopted these products, but most importantly, you gave us great feedback and we are working on making these more helpful

Here’s what you can expect from Grapevine in the next few weeks:

  1. Direct Messaging on Grapevine (yes yes, I know at this point everyone seems to be giving up on this xD)
  2. V2 Update to Salaries - making it more useful with more data points
  3. Launching verification and company private groups for 100 companies (we will keep doing this where we have enough people)
  4. A better feed: We are hoping to show you less of posts you’ve already seen (A common complain with Grapevine)
  5. A new approach to communities on Grapevine
  6. A feature buff to Polls - making them even more insights rich
  7. Better Link type posts - currently links on Grapevine are broken
  8. Grapes V2: People will get grapes for creating ‘Chatty posts’ and ‘Deep Polls’ over and above the current definition of Grapes that is just focused on the number of likes you get
  9. An Official Grapevine mixer (details soon!)

Keep posting random things, and where are those daily watercooler posts? I haven't seen them these days. Is that unpaid intern still around, or did they leave the organization after seeing all that funding?

Reply clutter. I want to reply to a specific thread, and want notifications of that thread only. But right now, is it like 10 people talking over each other.

Not just 3, but multiple levels catering to that specific reply. Something that can be seen on reddit. I reply to A, that is a different thread. B replies to A, a different thread. C replies to me, continuing my thread. D to replies to B, continues the B thread. E replies to C, my thread continues but I dont want the notification. And so on

Yes. Sorry communities.
People are writing the same question in almost every community (Software engineering, Finance, Bangalore). The timeline seems repetitive due to this basically.

Send notifications for a post if there is any update. Let say if I find a thread useful, I can enable the notifications for the post and I would get notifications as soon as there is any update on it. Helps a ton in keeping track of the thread instead of checking it manually.
