Hike after 2+ yrs
If someone has 2+ yrs of experience in product based health care IT company in Technical Support How much hike he/she should ask if looking for a switch to other service based or product based companies?
Hi, I competed my one year as a fresher in an IT company and received 15% hike for the upcoming year and this is totally based on my previous year performance. This hike is considered as good? Or I can get more? Pov - I'm working in a product based company.
Whats your salary and role? How was your performance?
Joined as a fresher, 5.5 CTC. Performance - Meet Expectations (as given by my manager).
@james That is a bit low. For you, it should have been approx 25% if meeting expectation, and even more if doing extraordinary. You need to keep in mind that some product based companies (MNC) hired Tier 3 College freshers at 6 lakhs package last year and even got hike over that. What that means is, even after this hike, you will be on almost the same level as your batch-mates were (in those companies) an year back. It sucks, but don’t get too affected by such things. Everybody is pissed off at everyone else earning more here. In School we had rat race of marks, and in corporate world, it is the race of package and salary. Keep your quality of work, tech stack, learning too in mind.
15% hike depends on your salary.
15% on 5 lakh - below average 15% on 12 lakh - average 15% on 20 lakh - above average 15% on 40 lakh - Extraordinary
ohh, that's the criteria. I need to work upon me. Thanks.

How frequent should we be switching jobs?
As many a times we encounter situation where HR interrogate about multiple career advice. HOWEVER IT IS MANDATORY TO SWITCH JOB FOR FINANCIAL GROWTH.
