Unexpected Firing
Have you or anyone you have worked with ever been fired with some made-up reason by HR, during a situation when the product was close to completion and maybe the developer was not needed anymore?
Someone got fired at my previous company for sending a rude email by mistake to a Senior Vice President.
Here's mine at my previous job. A collegue of mine was fired for smoking weed in the bathroom. He got back to his laptop and he was high as fuck, I am pretty sure he didn't even understand why he was getting fired.
Woah, the same thing happened in my 1st company, one of my colleagues who happens to be my flatmate went to lunch and founders thought he went home and had weed (he always looked high af btw😂), they got on a call and fired him that same evening. It was a big show since it was very small company with less than 10 people and we used to work from founder's home
@TheseBoxer57 was this at Seekho?
Very very senior person in the company got fired (pushed out rather) bcos he/she/they did not suck up to the founders “close” group of 2 girl friends. He/she/they actually questioned and opposed the unit economics and then the revenue metrics for a dumb moonshot which the 2 girl friends planned and launched as the next best thing to sliced bread.
Snapshot : the very senior absolutely brilliant person left super quickly, got hired into one of the world’s best company, turned it around for another massive success. What was left in my company was just cry baby girls.
So, I heard of a guy who got fired in my company for a very weird reason. Story time : this guy was working in the company for the past 5yrs but before he joined the company, he had an offer from another company(let's call it X). He was waiting for joining letter from X when he got a joining letter here and he started working. Now he also got joining letter from X and the joining date was the next day he was supposed to join here. He took the offer from X, worked there for 1 day and for some reason, resigned the next day. Now, that means, technically there was overlap of 1 day when he was working in both companies. 5yr passes by, nothing happens until one day my company finds out about this overlap and he gets terminated, all for that 1 day overlap he had 5yrs ago.
